Disney T.O.T.S Birthday Party

Calling all T.O.T.S! Our little Sadie just turned three! Wow did this past year go by fast. It feels like I was just posting about her 2nd birthday party and now here we are celebrating her 3rd birthday. Sadie’s favorite show is T.O.T.S so I knew she would be so excited to have a whole party planned around her favorite show. Not going to lie, I really enjoyed planning this party. I actually had a lot of fun ideas, but since we were keeping the party small due to Covid I decided not to go too overboard. If you have a little one at home that is also a T.O.T.S fan, I hope this post helps you plan the perfect party for them.

Decorations

When planning any party I love to have one focal area. For this party I decided to make a balloon garland, which I surprisingly have never done before. I felt like it was the perfect fit for this party since the balloons almost resemble clouds. I found this DIY balloon kit that made making the garland so easy. I also highly recommend getting an electric balloon pump since you will need to blow up a large amount of balloons. I ordered this one and it worked great. I attached the balloon garland to a backdrop frame I made out of PVC pipe. I bought the supplies for the frame at Lowes for about $17. The PVC pipe is great because you can easily put it together and then take it apart for easy storage.

As each kid arrived they received a flyer badge. I made the badges by printing them on round sticker lables and then cut around the outline of each one. It was pretty cute when I put the badge on the birthday girl. She was so proud of it!

Sadie already has several T.O.T.S toys so I set up a little play area for the kids, a.k.a the “Junior Flyers in Training”. The toys worked great because they doubled as decorations and entertainment for the kids.

Food

The party was from 2:00-4:00 so I decided to go with snack/appetizer types of food. As with every party I plan, the food needs to match the theme. If you are familiar with T.O.T.S then this menu should be no surprise to you.

  • Birdseed Butter and Jam Sandwiches
  • Tater T.O.T.S
  • Feather Fires
  • Freddy’s Cheese Platter (charcutier for the adults attending)

It wouldn’t be a T.O.T.S party without a smoothie bar! Now I could have gotten really carried away with this and the wheels really started turning in my head. I imagined a whole station with a variety of fresh fruit and fun ingredients and each kid could create their own smoothie, then I pulled myself back down to reality. Since it was a small party I decided to keep it simple and offer one flavor for all the kids, which ended up being strawberry banana. The smoothie bar was a big hit and the kids loved it. I of course had to do something fun for the adults and made frose which was also a big hit :).

Other T.O.T.S food ideas include: Wing Waffles, KC’s Treetop Muffins, Cotton Candy Clouds and Pip’s Ice Pops.

Cake

My favorite part of the whole day was when I opened the fridge to show the birthday girl the cake and seeing the look on her face. She loved it! I am so happy with how this cake turned out. We already had the T.O.T.S characters which were perfect for the cake. Since I had the different characters to display on the cake I wanted to keep the rest of the cake pretty simple so it wasn’t too busy. Our little girl loves chocolate and berries so I went with a chocolate raspberry cake. The cake consisted of chocolate cake layers, a thin layer of chocolate fudge sauce, then a layer of whipped raspberry filling and fresh raspberries. The whole cake was then frosted with sky blue vanilla buttercream. This cake was sooooo good!!!!

Favors

As each guest left they received a goodie box and a little thank you note from the birthday girl. I found some T.O.T.S theme favor boxes that worked perfect. Inside each box was the following:

  • T.O.T.S coloring play pack
  • Baby animal light up bath toys (each guest was given two animals with a note that read “congrats on becoming a Junior Flyer. Now it’s time for you to take this baby home”.
  • Air dry clay (found these ones at Target in the dollar spot)
  • Motts fruit snacks
